Creativity Knows No Age

Finding joy and wonder through artistic expression.

Where creativity lives, there is wonder and joy. Every Sunday afternoon in the Simeanna Apartments on the Miravida Living campus, an intern sponsored by the ArtsCore program provides art instruction and encourages residents to express their creative abilities.

ArtsCore, a partnership between the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, the Paine Art Center and Gardens, and regional public school districts, supports pre-service and early career teachers in their efforts to teach in and through the arts by developing and implementing programming designed to enhance their competence, confidence, and resiliency.

Miravida Living is grateful an ArtsCore student teacher has committed to offering learning opportunities for residents across our campus. Residents look forward to the classes and thoroughly enjoy being together. They are amazed by their abilities and proud of their art.

The experiences have ignited creative wonder among residents across campus. The artistic energy pairs perfectly with the upcoming “Art After 60” event on Saturday, October 19 from 10am-3pm at Simeanna I on the Miravida Living campus. The exhibition will feature the artwork from the ArtsCore classes, the Diamond artists who live in the Miravida Living community and Yarns of Yesteryear. Betty Hawley, a Simeanna resident, pours her passion, talent and energy for art into the event. She works tirelessly to involve residents in planning and exhibiting at the annual event.

Miravida Living knows creativity knows no age and it has no limits. We invite you to attend the “Art After 60” event and enjoy the afternoon with our resident artists.
