5 Wonderful Things That Happened at Miravida Living in 2018

“Year’s end is neither an end nor a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instill in us.” Oprah Winfrey

2018 Intalere Healthcare Achievement Award

Miravida Living was honored to receive national recognition as the recipient of a 2018 Intalere Healthcare Achievement Award for community impact and innovation for our Cycling Without Age program. It was a huge honor, and we’re so proud of our team, community members, volunteers and, of course, our residents who make this such an enjoyable and award-winning program. We think it’s worth it just to see the smiles on their faces as they feel the wind in their hair.

Special Visitors From Ruijin Hospital

Miravida Living had the pleasure of hosting visitors from Ruijin Hospital in Shanghai. We had a wonderful time discussing how programs like Green House Project homes, Noah’s Landing and Cycling Without Age are having a positive impact on elder care. It was a remarkable opportunity to shape the conversation around aging and the possibilities of living with wonder. It was truly an inspirational experience!

Cycling Without Age Americas Summit

Miravida Living had the great privilege of hosting the first Cycling Without Age Americas Summit. Over three days CWA leaders and enthusiasts shared stories, participated in workshops, and true to its purpose, hosted a city-wide ride for residents of Miravida Living. During the summit, guests shared their experiences with this invaluable program.

Namaste Care International Champion

In 2014, Miravida Living became the first organization in Wisconsin to offer a Namaste Care program, and this year, we were invited to be the U.S. Namaste Care International Champion. Broadening our leadership role with Namaste Care allowed us to further our work in providing individualized care and activities for people living with dementia, assisting others in planning and implementing the program, and finally, influencing the future of aging in meaningful ways.

Trick Or Treating With The Community

A recording-breaking number of families join us for our wonderful annual Halloween celebrations! Our elders had a great time handing out candy and sharing smiles with the adorable kids in their costumes. We can’t wait to do it again in 2019!

This past year has been filled with many blessings. We are privileged to serve our wonderful residents and their loved ones and thankful for our team, volunteers, community and donor support who make what we do possible. Our best wishes for a blessed Christmas and Happy New Year!
